About
Why FishNet?
The name was chosen by a helpful sub-editor because it seemed to him that it cleverly combined the subject matter, with our seaside location. ;-)
For convenience sake, I have transferred my photo blog and a few other bits and pieces to this location as well. There are some older posts whose illustrations were lost in a move from Blogger to WordPress, and some broken links here and there, which shouldn't affect the overall usability of the Blog much, if at all.

Fun with PhotoScape

I have been doing the FishNet column for nearly four years non-stop, and the list of posts has gotten pretty long. While the search box at the right-hand top corner of the page is the quickest way of finding a … Continue reading

Many of my columns over the years are stored on this blog and the reason I started doing that was to be able to point readers to the archive, and cunningly save myself the work of answering some of the … Continue reading

Looking back over previous columns, I see it’s been nearly a year since I accidentally formatted my hard drive. I can’t believe it’s been that long because my wounds are still smarting from that unfortunate incident. One result of the … Continue reading
Making bad pictures
I went through a phase of playing lawn bowls but, although I haven’t played for a number of years, I have retained a piece of wisdom imparted by a grizzled veteran. He said that, no matter how good I got, … Continue reading →
