About
Why FishNet?
The name was chosen by a helpful sub-editor because it seemed to him that it cleverly combined the subject matter, with our seaside location. ;-)
For convenience sake, I have transferred my photo blog and a few other bits and pieces to this location as well. There are some older posts whose illustrations were lost in a move from Blogger to WordPress, and some broken links here and there, which shouldn't affect the overall usability of the Blog much, if at all.

Right for monochrome
Some subjects somehow just beg to be presented in monochrome even though they don’t look too bad in colour. This is one of my favourite shots from recent times.
Durban @ night
Things have been a bit quiet on the photographic front. Not so much on the taking, as on the processing side. Nevertheless, I did like this one taken at the weekend on a trip downtown. It’s made up three of … Continue reading

Took a while
It took a while to get round to processing the pictures from a shoot during which I wasn’t thinking all that clearly. (See Doofus) I did have a very high discard rate but there were a few decent pictures as … Continue reading

Blurry good?
I was fiddling with the trial version of Nik Software’s Silver Efex Pro Photoshop plug-in and came up with this version of one of my favourite pictures, after trying a few different effects. Silver Efex seems to be a great … Continue reading

Getting Bown away
The last week brought me quite a shock, photographically speaking. First, to fill in the essential background, I have been wondering what my own photographic style was and what sort of photographer I wanted to be. Continue reading
On the stoep
Sometimes you have to go to the ends of the earth for your pictures and sometimes they’re on your front stoep [veranda], left behind by the painters.
