About
Why FishNet?
The name was chosen by a helpful sub-editor because it seemed to him that it cleverly combined the subject matter, with our seaside location. ;-)
For convenience sake, I have transferred my photo blog and a few other bits and pieces to this location as well. There are some older posts whose illustrations were lost in a move from Blogger to WordPress, and some broken links here and there, which shouldn't affect the overall usability of the Blog much, if at all.

Fast and wide
In a post or two ago I talked about fast glass. In the the comments I mentioned my desire for a prime lens of around 14mm. That would give me the equivalent of a 21mm on my crop-sensor D90. I … Continue reading

Nice bokeh
Great bokeh with my new Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 lens set at F3.2. I’m very pleased with the lens but having used slow zooms for so long, I’m going to have to remember just how narrow the depth of field is … Continue reading

UTP: attempt # 2
So, yesterday’s post turned into a bit of a disaster when, after several hundred words, my work suddenly disappeared and I was left with the picture and no text. I would have thought that that was impossible with Wordpress but, as I can now say, it most certainly is. Continue reading
A new baby arrives
